GLENDALE, Ariz. – Hope International men's tennis had its four-match winning streak halted on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to Arizona Christian at the Paseo Racquet Center.
The Firestorm picked up the doubles point with wins at the top two positions.
HIU lost three singles matches and three others were abandoned as ACU had garnered the requisite fourth point to win the match.
Karan Srivastava dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Hugo Abril at No. 1, Reid Lizardo fell 6-4, 6-2 to Lennert Lemahieu at No. 2 and Kaito Henderson faltered in a 6-2, 6-1 defeat to Samuel Miyata at No. 4.
Mohamed El Sheikh split the first two sets against Adrian Smith at No. 6 before the match ended,
HIU returns to action on Tuesday with a noon contest at Fullerton College.
