SURPRISE, Ariz. – Thomas Folsom clinched the deciding point for Hope International men's tennis in a 5-2 road triumph against OUAZ on Thursday at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex.

Folsom won at No. 3 singles, one of four wins for the Royals this afternoon. Karan Srivastava captured a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 over Arvid Lindblad, and Reid Lizardo overcame an early deficit to topple Filip Novacek at No. 2 by scores of 5-7, 7-5, 10-7.

The fourth singles winner for HIU came from the sixth position, as Kento Henderson outlasted Albin By 6-3, 7-5.

HIU also won the doubles point by taking the two matches in the order. Srivastava and Folsom were triumphant at No. 1, defeating Lindblad and Novacek 7-5. Lizardo and Sebastien Dizon Perez notched a 6-3 win over Kasper Olofsson and Fabian Wetter.

The only two losses for the Royals occurred in three sets as Kaito Henderson and Perez were competitive in those contests.

HIU continues its swing in the Grand Canyon state, squaring off against Arizona Christian on Saturday at noon.
