Salinas, CA - The Hope International men's and women's track and field team continued their excellent season at Hartnell College this past weekend in preparation for the GSAC Championships.
Daniel Perez had a great double in the 1500 and the 800 for the men. He kept his personal record for the 1500 at 4:06, and the 800 in 2:00.00 getting top three in both events.
Caleb Ornelas also had a great repeat in the 1500 and the 800. Caleb hit a 4:05 in the 1500 to get second overall and also had a strong finish in the 800 with a time of 2:08.00.
Diego Pineda also continued to have strong performances with the senior clocking in at 2:07 in the 800 and 25 seconds respectively in the 200 meter dash.
Jazmin Zambrano competed in her first Javelin performance hitting the school record with 18.29 meters and also getting back out there to excel in the 800 meter dash with a 3:14.
Lupe Mata also continued her great season with a fourth place finish in the 800 with a 2:33.
The Royals will continue their season on April 24 and 25 at SOKA University of America for the GSAC championships.
