Fullerton, CA – The Hope International men's soccer team (2-0) continued their season with a 3-0 shutout victory over the SOKA University of America Lions on Saturday evening in Aliso Viejo, CA
The Royals began this game like the last one as they jumped on the Lions creating several early chances before they eventually broke through in the 17th minute as
Miguel Flores played a brilliant through ball to
Dario Robles who put in the back of the net for his second goal of the season. From their the Royals didn't let off the gas as they continued to press forward. The press paid off as Robles grabbed his second goal of the game after taking the ball off a SOKA defender just a few minutes later in the 25th minute to put the Royals ahead 2-0. The Royals continued to create most of the chances as they went into halftime up 2-0. The Lions managed a few opportunities in the second half but the Royals defense stood firm. The Royals would then add a late goal as
Arturo Miguel Gutierrez blasted a shot in from the top of the 18 to make it 3-0 in the 87th minute as the Royals emerged victorious.
Oscar Sierra notched his second shutout of the year in as many games while recording three saves.
The Royals will return to action on Tuesday, August 30 against the University of Antelope Valley at 3:30 PM in Lancaster, CA.
