Santa Clarita, CA – The Hope International men's soccer team (8-1-4, 3-0-2) continued GSAC play with a 2-0 victory over The Master's on Thursday afternoon in Santa Clarita, CA.
The Royals controlled the game from the start as they created several early chances. The breakthrough would come in the 31st minute as
Diego Lopez passed the ball off to
Dario Robles who finished to put the Royals up 1-0. The Royals would then add to their lead a few minutes later as Robles deked the goalie and then played a ball across the box to
Christian Uriostequi who tapped it in for his first goal of the season in the 39th minute to put the Royals up 2-0 at halftime. The Royals continued to dominate the attack in the second half while the defense held the Mustangs at bay led by goalie
Oscar Sierra who recorded three saves as the Royals went on to a 2-0 shutout win.
The Royals continue GSAC play on the road as they head up the coast to take on Westmont College at 3:15 PM on Saturday, October 13 in Santa Barbara, CA.
