Landry Named ABCA/Rawlings Pitcher of the Year

Hope International senior Josh Landry added to his awards mantle on Tuesday as he was tabbed the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings National Pitcher of the Year for the NAIA Division.

Landry, who previously had earned NAIA National Pitcher of the Year accolades, became the first Royal to receive the prestigious honor from the ABCA/Rawlings organization.

The southpaw had a spectacular final season in a Royals uniform, posting an 11-3 record with a 1.70 ERA – the second-lowest in the NAIA this season and No. 1 all-time at HIU. He struck out 109 batters in 84.2 innings and issued just 13 walks.

The 11 wins tied for second-most in HIU single-season history, while the 109 strikeouts ranked fourth all-time. The Long Beach native struck out 10 or more hitters six times, including 13 against Benedictine Mesa and The Master's. He also tossed four shutouts, accomplishing the feat in his final two starts against BENU and Texas A&M-Victoria in the GSAC Tournament and NAIA Opening Round, respectively.

Landry also entered the top-10 in HIU single-season annals for fewest walks allowed per nine innings (4th - 1.38) and most strikeouts per nine innings (7th - 11.58).

Other achievements for Landry in 2026 included being named the GSAC Pitcher of the Year, All-GSAC for the third straight season, and an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove recipient.

In addition, Landry finished his HIU career ranked No. 1 in wins (27), strikeouts (293), complete games (8) and shutouts (6). His 2.92 career ERA ranks seventh in the Royals career record book.
