Sports Illustrated writer Laura Lambert details the chatter that 13th round draft pick Isaiah Lane is on the radar in the Minnesota Twins organization after a stellar start to his minor league baseball career.
The former Hope International shortstop – the 2026 GSAC Newcomer of the Year and All-GSAC honoree – began his professional career at Single-A Fort Myers and slashed .288/.430/.548 with two home runs, 18 RBI and a .978 OPS.
Lane's 21 hits included 11 for extra bases, including five doubles and four triples. He also drew 18 walks in 93 plate appearances.
Lane helped the Royals to the 2026 GSAC regular season and tournament titles after hitting .356 in 39 games, notching eight doubles, three triples and seven home runs. The slick fielding shortstop posted a .975 fielding percentage, committing just four errors in 157 attempts, which earned him a spot on the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove Team.
The 377th overall pick may become one of the top prospects in the Twins organization before too long.
