LOMPOC, Calif. – Sophomore Miranda Cervantes shot a 1-over 73 in the final round of the 2026 GSAC Women's Golf Championship to finish second overall on Wednesday at the La Purisima Golf Course.
The 73 represented the lowest scoring round of the tournament. Cervantes entered the final round trailing leader Hannah Ulibarri of The Master's by nine strokes. Cervantes trimmed five strokes off the lead as Ulibarri carded a final round 6-over 78.
Ulibarri held on for individual medalist honors after shooting a 54-hole aggregate 11-over 227 (75-74-78).
After struggling to an opening round 83, Cervantes was the top golfer in the field as she shot 4-over over the final 36 holes. The Fullerton native finished at 15-over 231 (83-75-73).
Through six holes, she was shooting 3-under, highlighted by birdies on the par-4 , 337-yard second and par-4, 344-yard fifth, and an eagle on the par-5, 457-yard sixth. It was the second straight round that she had an eagle on the sixth hole.
Cervantes bettered third place finisher Chiara Israng of OUAZ by seven strokes.
HIU senior Ylianna Fernandez finished in 14th place with a 54-hole total of 250 (80-83-87).
Embry-Riddle won the team title shooting 94-over par for the tournament.
