COSTA MESA, Calif. – Sophomore Miranda Cervantes earned individual medalist honors at the Soka Invitational on Thursday, shooting a 5-over 77 at the Costa Mesa Golf Course.

Cervantes outdueled a group of five golfers from Soka on the par-72, 5,907 yard layout. She had a par score on 15 of the 18 holes.

Mariah Brooks was the top Lion golfer, placing second with a 9-over 81. Linnea Yamamoto (86, +14), Beini Tang (101, +29), Mizuki Yano (105, +33) and Ryanne Padayhag (110, +38) rounded out the Lions lineup.

HIU continues the season at The Bandy Invitational on April 6-7 in Page, Ariz. at the Lake Powell National Golf Course.
