LOMPOC, Calif. – Hope International men's golf placed fourth out of six teams at the TMU Spring Invite in a precursor to the April GSAC Championship on the La Purisima Golf Course.
Chris Ruiz, who shot a first round 2-over 74, was the top Royal individual finisher in eighth place. He carded rounds of 80 and 83 to conclude the 54-hole event at 21-over 237.
Other scorers for HIU included Caeden Cheah in 13th place (84-79-79), Ashtin Mount in a tie for 14th (80-81-82), Dominick Rivera in a tie for 20th (81-88-83) and Evan Lambert in 28th (85-77-96).
Brooks Perry and Drew Young also competed for the Royals, finishing in 29th and 30th place, respectively.
Individual champion was Simpson's Justin Kiester at 12-over 228. Simpson also won the team title by 16 shots over host and runner-up The Master's.
