HIU Cheer Earns Gold

Las Vegas, NV- The inaugural Hope International competitive cheer program made history this week while attending the NCA College Cheer camp in Las Vegas. The team had an amazing camp experience and learned new skills, made great connections and were a force at camp. Their main goal was to introduce themselves to the college cheer world and prove that they will dominate competition.

HIU brought two teams to camp all-girl advanced and all-girl intermediate. Both teams were awarded spirit sticks, received four superior blue ribbons and excellent evaluations. In the final day of competition all girl intermediate received 2nd place in both their rally routine and their crowd engagement cheer, as well as earning a bronze bid to NCA nationals. All girl advanced won their division in the crowd engagement cheer and took second in the rally routine. They also received a paid gold bid to NCA Nationals- the highest award you can receive at camp.

The Royals had two all girls stunt groups compete in the Top Gun competition and five athletes tried for the coveted All American with junior Sophia Rosendale, sophomore Jamisen Chacon and incoming freshman Emily Ecute all receiving the honor after successfully performing the required skills of a Round off backhandspring full twist, a toe touch back tuck and a stunt sequence performed with perfection.

The Royals are excited to enter into the collegiate competition season for the first time in school history and create a new legacy.
