
The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced on Thursday the Fall Scholar-Athlete Teams for the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and women's volleyball. Hope International had 18 honorees recognized by the conference.
To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and hold a GPA of 3.5 or greater.
Women's soccer had the largest contingent of 10, with Kailie Aguilar, Sofia Bizzaro, Jenna Chaput, Annie Holst, Rocky Licea, Bela Ochoa, Francesca Pereira, Larissa Perez, Indi Stum and Brandi Valdez. Men's soccer contributed four representatives to the list in Brandon Galindo, Sam Mai, Freddy Mora and Wyatt Schaap.
Judy Juhala, Savannah Salter and Isabel Villavicencio represented women's volleyball and Jazmin Zambrano made the list from women's cross country.
A total of 241 student-athletes were honored by the GSAC across the five fall sports.
