Tempe, Arizona- The Royals STUNT team started off the season strong with four wins in Arizona this past weekend. Ten teams from Arizona, California and Oregon competed in the annual Dual with the Devils game play at Arizona State University. The Royals played Arizona Christian University and Ottawa University, Arizona in NAIA division play as well as George Fox University (D3) and Grand Canyon University (D1).
The Royals dominated throughout each quarter and ended with a shutout of 18-0 against the Firestorm. The highlight of the game was debuting the new level 5 pyramid with the firestorm forfeiting and still receiving the point, playing better than the standard. The top 5 power players for game 1 of the season were:

The second game of the weekend had the Royals go up against the Lopes from GCU. The Royals again dominated throughout each quarter of the game with an ending score of 19-2. The Lopes tied the Royals on PS2 both times played. The highlights of the game were scoring on pyramid 6 twice and pyramid 8, both unopposed. The top 5 power players for game 2 of the season were:

Starting out day 2, HIU took on George Fox University from Oregon. This was the first time over playing the Bruins. The Royals remained consistent and controlled the game the entire time. The highlights for the game were playing PS5 and scoring on it unopposed as well as a clean sweep though quarter 4 winning all 12 points in the quarter. The Royals ended with another shutout of the weekend with a score of 22-0. The top 5 power players for game 3 of the season were:

The last game of the weekend brought the Royals back into division play against the Spirit from OUAZ. The Spirit tied the Royals on JT1 in quarter 3, JT2 in quarter 4 and gave up their first point of the season in the JT3 portion of quarter 4. The Royals lead the entire game. The highlight of game 4 was playing JT6 for the first time in program history. The Royals sideline erupted as the athletes on the mat hit all skills and won the point playing against OUAZ.
