Six Different Royals Score in Big 6-1 Win Over Warriors

Irvine, CA – The Hope International men's soccer team (7-2-2, 4-1-2 GSAC) bounced back from last week's loss with a commanding 6-1 victory over the Life Pacific University Warriors on Thursday evening at the OC Great Park Championship Soccer Stadium.

The Royals pressed forward from the start and quickly opened the scoring in the fourth minute as Christian Hernandez whipped a great cross into Andy Cabrera who finished for his third goal in three game to put the Royals up 1-0. The Royals continued to dominate the first half as they peppered the Warriors net with shots but were unable to find the target again. The Warriors looked for a response but the Royals defense held them to no shots on target as they took a 1-0 lead at halftime. At halftime the Royals recognized the programs first ever GSAC Championship team from 2014.

The Royals came out of halftime pushing for more and quickly scored again as Freddy Mora scored his first career goal assisted by Christian Carranza to make it 2-0 in the 50th minute. The Warriors would answer just minutes later after a soft penalty call led to a goal to make it 2-1 in the 54th minute. The Royals would answer in the 64th minute as Vincent Lopez scored a screamer that ricocheted off both posts assisted by Sebastian Ramirez to make it 3-1. The Warriors looked for a response and came close with a shot off the post but it was the Royals who struck again as Uriel Ramirez stuck for his fourth goal of the season in the 78th minute to make it 4-1. The Royals then scored again just a minute later as Gio Marin scored his first goal of the season on a free kick through the wall to make it 5-1 in the 79th minute. The Royals weren't done as Robert Estrada found Lex Leathem for his first career goal in the 87th minute as the Royals went on to win 6-1. Milton Herrera played the first half and wasn't required to make a save while Berlin Torres played the second half and recorded two saves.

The Royals continue GSAC play on the road as they travel to Prescott, AZ to take on Embry-Riddle (AZ) on Saturday, October 12 at 3:30 PM.
