Tempe, AZ- The Royals STUNT team traveled to Arizona this past weekend to start the season and emerged with three big victories. Their first game was against Arizona Christian in GSAC division play. The Royals easily dominated from the start and had a shut out against the Firestorm with a 20-0 final score. The power players for the ACU game were
Kamea Binnquist leading the team with 66 power points, followed closely by
Jamie Goldman with 61,
Mackenzie Ellison with 59,
Nicole Contreras with 57 and
Angelina Castanon with 56 power points. The team was successful in scoring off of all the new levels.
The 2
nd game of the tournament was the toughest yet, against the D1 Arizona State University SunDevils. Last year our first program win was against ASU by 1 point and they have proven to be a tough challenge.. The Royals held the lead the entirety of the game, however it was a very close game even until the final round. Power players in the ASU game include:

Kamea Binnquist tied for 44 power points,
Mackenzie Ellison with 42,
Natasha Turner with 36 and
Jasmine Rincon and
Nicole Contreras tied with 33 power points each. The final score was HIU 16 ASU 13.
The final game for the weekend was against D1 Grand Canyon University. The Royals again took the first point and continued dominating the lopes throughout the game. A huge goal was accomplished with the Royals earning their first point ever on Level 5 tumbling. Power players for the GCU game include

The team came to Arizona with the mindset of 3 games 3 wins and they succeeded. They were focused and especially excelled in their partner stunts. Upon the conclusion of this tournament. The Royals are currently 1st in the GSAC division with their win against ACU and their total overall record so far.
