Mancilla Leads With a Brace as Royals Shutout Mustangs 4-0

Irvine, CA – The Hope International men's soccer team (12-2-1, 4-1-0 GSAC) won their third GSAC game in a row as they toppled The Master's University Mustangs 4-0 on Thursday evening at OC Great Park Field 18 in Irvine, CA.

The Royals came out of the gates quickly and found the opening goal just six minutes in as Jesse Mancilla whipped in a great cross into the middle that Cory Booth headed home for his second goal of the season to put the Royals up 1-0. From there the Mustangs created several opportunities but goalie Milton Herrera and the Royals defense remained rock solid. The Royals then added to their lead in the 34th minute as Arjan Chahal found Mancilla who launched a golazo into the top right corner as the Royals took a 2-0 lead. The Mustangs had a late chance but Chahal cleared the ball off the line from a corner as the Royals took a 2-0 halftime lead.

The Mustangs pushed forward to start the second half and created several opportunities but it was the Royals who struck again as Jorge Perez crossed in from the right side and found Mancilla for his second of the game to make it 3-0 in the 57th minute. The Royals continued to push for more as Sebastian Ramirez played in Perez who finished for his eighth goal of the season to put the Royals up 4-0 in the 68th minute.
