Royals End Indoor Track & Field Season With Four New School Records

The Royals wrapped up their Indoor Track & Field season at the Soka Indoor Qualifier this past weekend and broke four school records at the meet.

Michael Ventura (NA) broke two school records, his first record of the day came in the 60m dash, running a 7.44 winning his heat and finishing 13th overall.  Ventura then returned in the 200m and improved on his own school record by running 22.89 and finishing 4th overall. 
 
The next school record was Joseph Clemons (SO/Val Verde, CA) in the 600m. Clemons improved on his own school record by running 1:22.32 and finishing 2nd overall, Clemons missed the Indoor qualifying mark by less than a second and ranks him 51st in the NAIA in the 600m. Diego Pineda (FR/Corona, CA) won his race in the 1000m by running 2:43.23 and Belzasar Haro (SO) ran two events  running 2:09.74 in the 800m finishing 11th overall and 5:00.11 in the mile and finishing 15th overall.
 
On the women's side, Emma Timmermans (FR/Santa Ana, CA) broke her own school record in the 3000m by running 10:33.09 winning her heat and finishing 2nd overall.  Timmermans' time missed the Indoor qualifying mark by less than four seconds and ranks 62nd in the NAIA. 
 
Arlene Magana (FR/Corcoran, CA) ran a new personal record in the 3000m by running 11:33.47 and finishing 18th overall, while Aurora Couto (SO/Winchester, CA) also ran the 3000m by running 11:37.67 finishing 19th overall.  Sofia Gutierrez (SO/Placentia, CA) ran the 200m in 28.93 and finished 17th overall.
