Hailing from Western Massachusetts, Coach Bryan Phillips brings both personal and professional athletic experience to the Hope International men's soccer program. Following graduation from Greenfield High School as a Four-Sport Varsity Letterman, Phillips served in the United States Army and graduated in the top 5% of his class. He then spent time as a professionally sponsored athlete and competed at the highest level. Phillips has 20+ years of soccer coaching experience both at the High School, College, and elite club soccer levels. Phillips currently holds a National B license and has received the United Soccer Coaches “Youth Coach Award of Excellence”.

Prior to HIU, Phillips has served as the Program Director & Head Coach of Westcoast FC since 2011. Teams that Coach Bryan Phillps has been involved with have won 8 titles in California Regional League (CRL), won 2 titles in National League (NL), won 2 CA State Championships, won 3 titles in CA National Cup Championships, won 2 titles at Western Regional Championships and been to 3 National Championships Finals.  In addition to Championships, he has won multiple major tournament titles at Surf Cup, Man City Cup, Westcoast Classic, and Dallas Cup. 

Phillips also has experience at the high school level as an Assistant Coach at JSerra Catholic High School from 2015-2020. He helped JSerra to a Trinity League Title in 2019, where 8 of the 11 starting players played on his club team as well.     

From 2019-2020 Phillips was an Assistant Coach & Administrator for Orange County Soccer Club of the United Soccer League. During his time with OCSC, he helped build and coach the first-ever OCSC Academy Team which made its debut at the first-ever USL Academy Cup in San Antonio, Texas, October 11-14, 2019. The team finished 2-0-1. (Wins Against San Antonio FC 7-2, Santa Cruz Breakers 3-0 and Tied, Phoenix Rising 2-2).
