ANAHEIM, Calif. – Hope International picked up two singles wins at the top of the ladder in a 5-2 loss to Stanton on Friday at the Anaheim Tennis Center.
Karan Srivastava defeated Oleksandr Kolesnychenko at No. 1, winning a first set tiebreaker to take the 7-6, 6-2 triumph. At No. 2, Reid Lizardo was victorious in quick fashion, 6-3, 6-0, over Egor Pischelev.
The Elks won in straight sets at all the other spots in the lineup. They also took the doubles point.
Sebastien Dizon Perez and Thomas Folsom lost a tough tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles, falling 7-6 to Pishchelev and Matthias Bigot.
The Royals play next on Friday, February 27 at Riverside City College. The match begins at noon.
