RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Junior Maya Estrada-Garcia earned her second consecutive sixth place finish, running a career-best time on Saturday at the Highlander Invitational.
Estrada-Garcia traversed the 6K Ag/Ops course in 22 minutes, 52.3 seconds. She obliterated her previous top time – set at the season-opening TMU XC Invitational – by 48 seconds.
Lupe Mata followed in 26th place with a time of 24:08.8. Mata also eclipsed her previous best time by 24 seconds.
Making her season debut, Jazmin Zambrano ran the course in 30:10.3 for 103rd place.
The Royals have one more tuneup prior to the November 7 GSAC Championships. They head to Springfield, Ore. to compete in the Bushnell Invitational on Friday, October 24.
