Moorpark, CA - The Hope International Men's Track & Field team wrapped up competition at the GSAC Championships on Wednesday and Thursday with a 6th place finish in Moorpark, CA.
The first day of competition was highlighted by a third place finish in the 4x800 meter relay as the team of
Diego Pineda,
Andy Avalos,
Ricardo Cruz and
Luis Diaz finished in a school record time of 8:12.61. Then later in the 10,000 meter run
Nathan Limon finished 9th with a personal record time of 33:56.49 while
Morgan Faunce also finished in a personal record time of 35:40.11.Â
The second day was highlighted by
Michael Ventura winning the 800-meter run in the second fastest time in school history with a 1:55.61 finishing nearly a second ahead of second place. Ventura also finished 6th in the 400 meter hurdles with a 60.82. Pinedo finished 7th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.46 and 8th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:11.33. Avalos also competed in the 1500 meter run finishing 10th with a 4:14.59. The Royals then wrapped up the competition with a sixth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay as the team of Ventura, Pinedo, Cruz and
Sebastian Metoyer finished in a time of 3:41.58.
The Royals return to action on Friday, May 3 at the Titan Tune Up hosted by Cal State Fullerton at 3:00 PM in Fullerton, CA.
