Teddy Ochieng continued his season by competing in the Long Jump at the Oxy Invitational held at Occidental College on Saturday, May 6
th. Ochieng was working on a few things in preparation for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held May 24-26 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
Ochieng was working on his approach to the board during the competition at the Oxy Invite. He barely qualified for the Finals with his 3
rd and final jump of 6.63m. By qualifying for the Finals, Ochieng was able to receive 3 more jumps. Ochieng was then able to improve by jumping 7.02m on his 5
th attempt placing him 6
th overall. This was Ochieng's last competition in preparation before the NAIA National Championships. Ochieng's best mark in the Long Jump this season is 7.18m which ranks him 24
th in the NAIA.
