Royals Dominate Justice For Seventh Win in a Row

Fullerton, CA - The Hope International University men's basketball team (12-2) closed out the year with their seventh win in a row as they dominated Justice College 80-60 on Saturday afternoon in the Darling Pavilion.

It was a slow start for both teams as neither could get their offense going as the game was tied 7-7 midway through the first. The Royals offense then woke up as Josh Hardiman finished a three point play to spark a 15-2 run as the Royals took a 21-9 lead with 5:17 to go led by five points from Allen Wright. Justice looked for a response but it was all Royals as they closed out the half on a 15-1 run led by six points each from Jonah Felix and Grant Sii to take a commanding 36-12 lead at halftime. The Royals dominated the paint in the first half outscoring Justice 22-4 and were efficient off turnovers forcing 22 turnovers while outscoring Justice 22-3.

Justice would quickly make it 36-16 to start the second half but the Royals answered with a 9-3 run started off by a layup from Sebastian Castro to extend their lead back to 45-19 with 16:48 remaining. The teams then traded buckets as Justice made it 48-24 before the Royals put together a 7-2 run capped off by a Felix layup to extend their lead to 55-26 with 13:07 left. The Royals would then go on to take their largest lead of the game 73-36 off a layup by Jozelle Carter Jr with 7:40 to go. The Royals then turned to their bench allowing Justice to close the gap somewhat as they went on to win 80-60. Felix led the Royals with 15 points off the bench going 6-for-8 from the field.

The Royals continue action at home in the new year as they host The Master's on Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 PM in the Darling Pavilion.
