Fullerton, CA - The Hope International University men's basketball team (11-2) won their sixth game in a row as they dominated the Bethesda University Lion Angels 83-60 on Wednesday evening at home in the Darling Pavilion.

It was a close game early on as the Royals grinded out to an early 15-7 lead with a big three from Cameron Dashiell and three big blocks from Josh Hardiman with 12:54 to go. The Lion Angels kept it close down 17-11 but the Royals kept pushing as they went on a 9-2 run to extend their lead to 26-13 on a layup by Grant Sii with 6:56 to go. The Lion Angels answered with a quick run to get within 26-20 but the Royals quickly called timeout to stop their run. The Lion Angels continued to keep it close as the Royals led 32-24 with 4:35 to go. That's as close as the Royals let them get as their offense came to life closing out the half on a 20-4 run led by 10 points from Sebastian Castro and another six from Hardiman as the Royals took a 52-28 lead at the half. The Royals lead was helped by Hardiman who already had a double double at halftime to go with five blocks.

The Royals added to their lead to start the half as they came storming out of the gates on a 12-1 run led by four points each from Hardiman and Aaron Wadman to extend their lead to a game high 65-29 just three minutes into the half. The Lion Angels rallied to make it 71-47 with 9:18 to go but the Royals had all the answers as they went on a 7-0 run capped off by a Wadman layup to take a 78-47 lead with 7:14 remaining. The Lion Angels made a late charge when the Royals turned to their bench in the final minutes as they made it 80-54. Liwayne Richardson then in his first appearance of the season made a basket in the final minutes as the Royals went on to win 83-60. Hardiman led the Royals with another double double (16 points, 16 rebounds) to go with six blocks while Wadman recorded his first double double (15 points, 10 rebounds) of the season. The Royals dominated the boards outrebounding the Lion Angels 52-32.
