Hopkins and Fisher Lead Royals to Dominant 93-55 Win Over Knights

Fullerton, CA - The Hope International University men's basketball team (7-2) won their second game in a row as they took down the Nobel University Knights 93-55 to start a two game mini tournament on Monday evening at home in the Darling Pavilion.

The Royals got off to a quick start as Aaron Wadman laid it off to Nick Hopkins for a basket off the tip off as the Royals opened on a 12-2 run to seize control early on. The Royals would then go on to lead 23-8 as Miles Ceballos knocked down a three assisted by Sebastian Castro with 11:16 to go. The Knights stuck around a little bit as they made it 32-21 with 5:34 remaining. The Royals then went on a 6-0 run finished off by a Hopkins layup to extend their lead to 41-21 with 2:52 to go. The Knights then got the final basket of the half as the Royals took a commanding 41-23 lead at the half. The Royals were helped by forcing eight turnovers in the first half leading to 12 points.

The Royals continued their momentum into the second half as they opened on a 9-2 run led by five points from CJ Fisher to extend their lead to 52-25 with 16:15 on the clock. The Knights were able to pull back a little bit as they made it 67-42 with 10:31 to go. The Royals kept scoring as Grant Sii drained a three to start a 10-2 run as the Royals went up 77-44 with 6:59 left. The Knights made it 80-51 before the Royals emptied their bench with 4:52 to go. Ceballos then found Josiah Beckenhauer for a three as the Royals closed out the half on a 13-4 run as they won 93-55. The transfer duo from Mt. SAC led the Royals with Hopkins scoring 19 and Fisher scoring 17.

The Royals continue action at home as they host La Sierra on Tuesday, November 26 at 3:00 PM in the Darling Pavilion.
