Five Royals Finish in Double Figures in Dominant Win Over Elks

Fullerton, CA - The Hope International University men's basketball team (5-3) won their second game in a row as a lights out shooting performance led them to a huge 99-58 win over the Stanton University Elks on Saturday afternoon at home in the Darling Pavilion.

The Royals got off to a fast start as they opened on a 7-0 run led by five points from Cameron Dashiell. The Royals then continued to dominate as they stretched their lead out to 22-6 midway through the first half off a three pointer from Jonah Felix. The Royals would then extend their lead to 31-12 after a three point play from Gaven Ramirez with 7:31 to go. The Elks continued to battle as they pulled back within 41-25 with 1:57 to go. The Royals had all the answers though as they closed the half on an 8-0 run led by four points from Ausage Siamu to take a commanding 49-25 lead at halftime.

The Elks tried to get back in the game to start the half but only managed to stay within 55-31 before the Royals answered on a 12-2 run led by four points each from Tristan Williams and Calen Murray to take a 67-33 lead with 14:45 to go. The Elks then got back within 82-49 with 6:54 to go but once again the Royals had all the answers as they went on a 13-2 run led by six points from Josh Hardiman to extend their lead to 44 points at 95-51 with 2:41 left. Later back to back buckets by Saman Govahi and Hardiman pushed the Royals lead to 99-54 as they went on to win 99-58. Murray led the Royals with 14 points as five Royals finished in double figures.

The Royals continue action at home as they host Bethesda on Tuesday, December 5 at 6:00 PM in the Darling Pavilion.
