Merced, CA – The Hope International men's soccer team (3-0-2) were unable to score as they finished 0-0 with the Redhawks on Wednesday morning at The Master's University in Santa Clarita, CA.
The Royals controlled the game from the start as they out shot the Redhawks 10-3 in the first half but were unable to get on the board as the game went into half time 0-0. It was a similar theme in the second but the Redhawks goalie continued to stand on his head as the Royals were unable to cash in. The Royals defense led by goalie
Milton Herrera also did not allow a goal. It looked like the Royals had finally scored on an intercepted back pass with about 10 minutes left but offside was called and the goal was disallowed as the game finished goalless. Herrera went the full 90 in goal recording 4 saves and a shutout.
The Royals will return to action on Saturday, September 10 against Occidental College at 7:00 PM in Los Angeles, CA.
