Fullerton, CA – The Hope International women's volleyball team (3-11, 2-4 GSAC) fell to the Life Pacific University Warriors 3-0 on Friday evening in the Darling Pavilion in Fullerton, CA
It was the Warriors who came out quickly in the first set as they built a 10-3 lead. The Royals answered though as they went a 6-1 run led by back to back service aces from
Carissa Wiles to cut their deficit to 11-9. The Royals continued to fight but couldn't get any closer as they fell 25-19 and trailed 1-0. The second set was tighter in the beginning as the teams went back and forth with the Royals taking their first lead of the game at 8-6. The Warriors used a 4-0 run to take a 10-8 lead and took control of the set. The Royals didn't let the Warriors get out to as much of a lead this time as they kept within one most of the way, but were unable to retake the lead as they dropped set two 25-23 and trailed 2-0. The third set continued to be a back and forth battle with the teams exchanging leads as the Royals looked to force a fourth set. Then with the game tied 13-13 the Warriors went on a 5-0 run to take a 18-13 lead. The Royals didn't give up though as they pulled back within 18-15 off back to back kills from
Sofia Ramdhani. They weren't able to get much closer though as they fell 25-19 and lost the game 3-0. Ramdhani and Wiles led the Royals with 9 kills each.
The Royals continue GSAC play at home on Friday, September 30 at 6:00 PM as they take on Vanguard in the Darling Pavilion.
