Royals Fight Hard but Come Up Short Against Warriors 3-2

San Dimas, CA – The Hope International women's volleyball team (5-19, 4-12) battled hard but fell 3-2 to Life Pacific in a GSAC matchup on Thursday evening in San Dimas, CA.

It was a battle early on as the teams exchanged leads before the Royals pulled away to a 16-9 led by three kills from Sofia Ramdhani. The Warriors quickly regrouped and went on an 8-0 run to take a 17-16 lead. The Royals quickly regained the lead at 18-17 and battled off the Warriors as Jade Philips recorded back to back kills to give the Royals a 25-22 victory in set 1 and take a 1-0 lead. The second set was a battle early on but the Warriors proved to be to much as they ran away with a 25-11 victory to tie the game 1-1. The Royals calmed things down in the third set as they held an early lead but once again the Warriors used a big run to take a control as they went on to win set three 25-19 and take a 2-1. The Warriors continued their momentum into the fourth set as they took a 22-15 lead. Down but not out yet the Royals continued to fight as they answered with an 8-0 run led by four kills from Cassidy Koffroth as they took their first lead of the set at 23-22. The Warriors would tie it on the next serve but the Royals answered with back-to-back kills from Koffroth as they won the set 25-23 to tie the game 2-2 and force a pivotal fifth set. The fifth set was a battle as the teams exchanged points early on before the Warriors used a 3-0 run take an 11-8 lead. The Royals didn't give up but just didn't have enough for the Warriors as they dropped the final set 15-11 and the game 3-2. Koffroth led the Royals with 17 kills.

The Royals continue GSAC play at home as they host San Diego Christian College on Friday, November 4th at 6:00 PM on senior night.
