Milikan HS- Competed with the Rams for 2 seasons under Coach Ron Keester during this time, Lopez earned several accomplishments including Freshman defensive player of the year, silver slugger, MVP, team captain, All Moore league, all star game starter, 2nd team dream team, Press telegram 2nd team, while leading his team to a 12-0 undefeated season for the first in league history, and finished with the 3rd highest batting average in league. Academically, Lopez excelled and earned honor roll all four years. In his free time, he volunteered 105 hours of community service and earned a community service medal.
