FULLERTON – The Hope International women's volleyball team opened up the 2026 Summer Slam on Friday with a pair of losses to ranked opponents Southern Oregon and College of Idaho.
The Royals fell 25-18, 25-18 and 25-22 to the 22nd-ranked Raiders in the opener. The 18th-ranked Yotes defeated the Royals 25-14, 25-10, 25-19.
Sabrina Galassi led HIU with nine kills against Southern Oregon and followed with a 10-kill effort against College of Idaho.
Kaylani Moncada had a match-high 17 digs versus the Yotes.
HIU returns to the court on Saturday to face No. 2 Eastern Oregon at 11:00 a.m. and Oregon Tech at 1:00 p.m.
