Sophomore Kaitlyn Maaske notched her third GSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week award, posting a 2-0 record with two saves in Hope International's four-game GSAC sweep of Park Gilbert, which included three one-run victories.Â
She tossed a five-hit shutout in Friday's game one 1-0 win, scattering five hits with no walks and six strikeouts. Maaske returned in the nightcap to preserve the save in a 5-4 victory, entering in the seventh with a runner on second and no outs.Â
The right-hander went the distance again in Saturday's 5-3 triumph, striking out six more batters and surviving a 12-hit attack by the Buccaneers. Maaske entered in relief again in the series finale, retiring the final two batters for her third save of the season.Â
She posted a 1.34 ERA with just three runs allowed in 15.2 innings.
