SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – No. 3 The Master's handed fifth-ranked Hope International a 5-0 loss in GSAC beach volleyball action on Wednesday at the TMU Beach Volleyball Courts.
The Mustangs won in straight sets on four of the five courts. HIU's No. 2 pair of Carmelina Infante and Lole Mamea took the first set 21-14 over Isabela Rodriguez and Ashlan Van Groningen, but dropped the next two sets by scores of 21-17 and 15-7.
HIU also had a battle at No. 4, but Krista Brady and Macy Gebhards prevailed 21-13, 25-23 over Katie Barclay and Manaia Mamea.
TMU clinched the match at No. 1, as Emma Winter and Zoe Yates toppled Sabrina Galassi and Bryce Swain by a 21-13, 21-15 decision.
The Royals also lost at No. 3 and No. 5 to fall to 6-4 overall and 5-3 in the GSAC. TMU improved to 7-4 overall and 5-1 in league play.
HIU takes on NCAA Division I CSUN on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
