SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – No. 1 The Master's hit .540 in a 25-14, 25-14, 25-14 men's volleyball victory over Hope International on Tuesday in the MacArthur Center.
The Royals dropped to 6-15 overall and 4-7 in the GSAC. The Mustangs remained undefeated at 17-0 and 10-0 in conference play.
Reigning GSAC Attacker of the Week Alessandro Spendolini led the Royals with six kills and Jah'mi Jeter added five. The GSAC Defender of the Week Hugo Gonzalez Gutierrez scooped up seven digs and Sam D'Ambrosio dealt out 15 assists.
Isaac Seltzer led TMU with 14 kills and Ezra Vlad chipped in 10 on .714 hitting.
The Mustangs had runs of 5-0 and 6-0 in set one to earn the victory. HIU remained within distance at 17-13 following a Jeter kill, but the Mustangs scored the final six points to run away with it.
TMU used a 5-1 run to break out to a 9-4 lead in set two. The Royals pushed back and crept to within 13-11, but a late 5-0 run gave the home team the comfortable win.
In set three, an 8-1 TMU run opened up a 10-4 lead. The Mustangs eventually created a double-digit cushion and took match point on a kill from Grant Foster.
The Royals host Soka on Senior Day this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. inside Darling Pavilion.
