ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The Great Southwest Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 Winter Sports Scholar-Athlete Teams on Monday, with seven Hope International individuals qualifying from the men's and women's basketball squads.
To be eligible for selection, nominees must be a sophomore or above in academic standing, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale – without rounding – and have attended their institutions for at least one full year.
The conference honored 107 Winter Sports Scholar-Athletes, including men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's swimming and diving.
For HIU, the women's basketball team had six individuals honored while the men had one.
Amira Austin becomes a three-time GSAC Scholar-Athlete, while Dre Javier and Jada Long earn the award for the second time.
