Hope International senior Nick Hopkins Monday earned a spot on the 2026 NAIA men's basketball All-American list as one of 12 players on the First Team.
Hopkins became the 10th player in program history to receive All-American recognition – and the first since Josh Powell Davis in 2020. He is just the fourth individual at HIU to be selected to the first team, joining Liam Hunt (2016-17), Kenny Morgan (2014-15) and Kris Rosales (2012-13).
The 6-5 guard finished the season ranked third in the GSAC in total points (525), fifth in scoring (15.9 PPG), eighth in rebounding (6.0 RPG) and seventh in field goal percentage (.557). Hopkins also led all GSAC players in free throw makes (177) and attempts (275).
As a starter in all 33 games, he scored in double figures 29 times with nine 20-point performances. He had a season-high 27 points in a key road win at Benedictine Mesa that helped the Royals finish 13-3 in the GSAC for a share of the regular season title.
Hopkins scored 20 points in a NAIA Tournament Second Round victory against Keiser that advanced HIU to the Round of 16 for just the second time in school history.Â
He then hit a crucial bucket in the round of 16 against Indiana Wesleyan, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, a block and three steals in a 71-65 win against the fourth-ranked Wildcats.Â
Hopkins played a key role in HIU reaching the NAIA Tournament quarterfinals, the second-furthest journey the program has ever made in the postseason.
