SAN DIMAS, Calif. – The Hope International beach volleyball squad won its third straight match, defeating Life Pacific 4-1 in a GSAC contest on Friday.
The Royals won at all positions except the top line.
Macy Thornburg and Kara Matthews put the Royals up 1-0 on line 5 with a 21-15, 21-16 victory over Lingli Chum-Schultz and Jane Costa. Phoebe Sebby and Manaia Mamea coasted to a 21-9, 21-13 win at No. 4 against Eva Becerra and Shalini Caldera.
The Royals clinched the match victory as the third pair of Cozette Zimmermann and Rita Nua survived a close call in the first set, prevailing 23-21, 21-14 over Allie Urquidies and Jocelyn Hernandez.
After the Warriors picked up their lone point at No. 1, the Royals secured the final point as the No. 2 pair of Carmelina Infante and Maci Hendry earned an 18-21, 22-20, 15-4 victory against Marlayina Masani and Kendal Collins.
The Royals are 6-3 overall and 5-2 in GSAC play.
They return to action on Wednesday, March 4, traveling to The Master's for a 2:30 p.m. match.
