SALEM, Ore. – Ezekiel Hueter and Alonzo Cardona advanced to day two of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Wrestling Championships on Friday at the Salem Armory Auditorium.

Hueter won his first round match at 174 pounds against Evergreen State's Andrew Campbell by fall at 1:12. He advanced to the quarterfinals against Embry-Riddle's No. 3-ranked Daniil Gorshkov. Gorshkov won 19-3 by tech fall to push Hueter to the consolation bracket.

In a consolation bout with Eastern Oregon's Wylee Lindeen, Hueter battled to a 10-9 decision to keep his placing hopes alive in the championships.

Cardona had a tough start in the 285 pound bracket, losing by fall to Simpson's Benjamin Vega Sanchez at 0:21. He received a bye in consolation round 1 and moved through consolation round 2 as his opponent, Simpson's Andres Garcia, forfeited the match.

Other Royals competing on Friday included Landen Prather at 141 pounds, Nico Naranjo at 157 and Jacob Ramirez at 165.

Hueter and Cardona will continue to compete in consolation action on Saturday.
