WHITTIER, Calif. – Hope International men's wrestling took on Embry-Riddle and Westcliff in a pair of duals on Saturday, with Alonzo Cardona and Nico Naranjo pinning an opponent to highlight the action at Rio Hondo College.

The Royals lost 45-6 to the Eagles and 39-12 to the Warriors, but Cardona earned a win by fall at 285 pounds over Westcliff's Armando Sandoval at 5:53. In addition, Naranjo collected a win at 149 pounds, downing Westcliff's Israel Gutierrez in 57 seconds by fall.

HIU picked up its six points against Embry-Riddle as Jacob Benavidez won by forfeit at 133 pounds.

The Royals return to action on Wednesday at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas.
