GLENDALE, Ariz. – Vivian Little tossed a complete game four-hitter to lead No. 21 Hope International to a 7-1 victory over 10th-ranked Oregon Tech on Saturday at the ACU Softball Field.
The Lady Owls scored a run in the seventh inning to earn a 3-2 win in game one.
HIU (8-4) plated an unearned run in the first in game one and added a Chey Navarro RBI double in the third. The Lady Owls evened the score in the fifth with consecutive fielder choices.
OIT (7-1)Â put runners on second and third in the seventh and Malia Mick's RBI single sent in the go-ahead run.
Kaitlyn Maaske went the distance for the Royals, allowing six hits and three runs. She did not walk or strike out a batter.
Little scattered four hits in game two, allowing just a first inning run to OIT.
The Royals took a 2-1 lead in the third on Jocelyn Aguilar and Navarro RBI singles. Navarro's single in the fifth plated Aguilar, starting a five-run uprising that culminated with two more runs scoring on a dropped fly ball by the OIT center fielder.
Navarro finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI's, while Aguilar scored twice.
The Royals conclude their trip to Arizona with a doubleheader against Simpson on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
