Fullerton, CA - The No. 13 Hope International men's volleyball team (8-3) pulled off their second sweep in a row as they came from behind twice to sweep the Jamestown University Jimmies 3-0 on Tuesday evening at home in the Darling Pavilion.

The Jimmies jumped out to an early 8-3 before going on to lead 11-6. The Royals stayed right on their heels as they got three kills in a row from Kyler Tufuga, Danny Helou and Cole Oliver to make it 11-9. The Jimmies responded well as they pulled out to an 18-15 advantage. The Royals finally seized control as they answered on a 6-1 run to take a 20-19 lead. The Jimmies quickly tied it but the Royals weren't to be denied as Oliver delivered back to back kills to win the set 25-22 and take a 1-0 lead. The teams traded the lead in the second set before the Royals went on a 5-0 run led by kills from Oliver and Julian Zavala to take an 8-4 lead. The Jimmies kept it close as they made it 12-11 but the Royals took control with a 4-0 run with blocks from Zavala, Helou and Damon Potter to extend their lead to 16-11. The Jimmies didn't give up as they rallied to get within 19-17 but again the Royals answered as they raced out to a 23-19 lead off kills from Oliver, Potter and Kyler Tufuga before going on to win the set 25-20 and take a 2-0 lead.

The teams once again traded leads to start the third set as the Jimmies looked to stay alive with them taking a 7-4 lead. The Royals looked to rally as a block by Helou and Potter brought them within 9-8 but this time the Jimmies answered well as they raced out to a 14-9 lead. The Royals answered with a kill from Oliver before the game was halted due to a major injury sustained by a Jimmies player. After the game resumed the Royals picked up the momentum as they made it 14-13 on a block by Sean Seaman and Zavala. The Jimmies regrouped and pulled back out to a 19-14 advantage. Needing an answer the Royals got one as back to back kills from Seaman sparked a 5-1 run as the Royals pulled within 20-19. The Jimmies would once again pull back out to a 22-20 advantage but the Royals looked to finish the game as they closed on a 5-0 run with a kill from Zavala sealing a 25-22 win and a 3-0 sweep. Oliver led the Royals with 14 kills while Tufuga led with 35 assists.
