Fullerton, CA - The Hope International men's tennis team (5-6) bounced back with a dominant 7-0 win over the NCAA Division III Principia College Panthers on Monday afternoon at home at the Fullerton Tennis Center.
The Royals quickly took the doubles point with
Yahia Elsheikh and
Reid Lizardo winning 6-0 and
Thomas Folsom and
Dylan Barrett winning 6-1. The Panthers did defeat the Royals at number two doubles with
Ricky Lizardo and
Kaito Henderson falling 6-2 but it with the Royals winning two of three they picked up the point. The Royals then swept the Panthers in singles play with Barrett shutting out his opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Kento Henderson won 6-1, 6-0 while
Reid Lizardo won 6-2, 6-2 and Elsheikh won 6-3, 6-4. Folsom also won his match 6-3 and 6-1 and
Ricky Lizardo bounced back picking up a tougher win 6-2 and 7-6 via tiebreaker.
The Royals continue action on the road as they head to New Orleans, LA for a four game tournament at Dillard University beginning on Thursday, March 20 at 10:00 AM as they take on Xavier.
