Shawnee, OK - The No. 17 Hope International University softball team (8-2) wrapped up their final day at the NAIA SB Invitational with a doubleheader sweep defeating the Missouri Baptist University Spartans 4-3 in walk off fashion before shutting out the Columbia College Cougars 6-0 on Sunday in Shawnee, OK.

Game 1:
Alexis Galvan (1-1) picked up the win pitching a complete game 8 innings allowing three runs on eight hits while walking one and striking out three. Karlie Bilbrey led the Royals offense going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the second inning when the Royals loaded the bases for Bilbrey who ripped a two run single into right field to put the Royals up 2-0 but the runner at first was thrown out at home trying to score so the Royals were unable to add more runs. The Spartans quickly struck back with two runs in the top of the third and would then take a 3-2 lead in the top of the sixth.

The Royals trailed until the bottom of the seventh where down to their final three outs they got a rally started with a double by Natalie Corrales. Two batters later Gabriela brought her home on a sac fly to tie the game 3-3. The game then headed to extra innings where Sarah Reisler delivered a perfect bunt that the third baseman couldn't handle allowing the winning run to score as the Royals walked it off 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth.

Maaske worked out of trouble in the top of the first and second innings to keep the Cougars off the board while the Royals offense got started in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded and one out Hernandez came through with an RBI groundout to make it 1-0. Sarah Reisler then came up clutch with a two out RBI single to left to increase the Royals lead to 2-0.
