Santa Clarita, CA - The No. 22 Hope International University men's basketball team (22-6, 10-4 GSAC) dropped their final conference game of the year as they fell to the No. 8 Master's University Mustangs 75-66 on Thursday evening on the road at Santa Clarita, CA.

The Mustangs raced out to an early 10-2 lead before the Royals scored their first field goal with a three by Jonah Felix to make it 10-5 with 13:26 to go. The Royals looked to build on that but were unable to do so as the Mustangs extended their advantage to 32-12 with 5:19 remaining. The Royals didn't give up as they slowly chipped away at the Mustangs lead with Felix finding CJ Fisher for a huge three to get the Royals within 40-28 with 1:26 left. The Mustangs answered with a three but the Royals got the final points of the half on a pair of free throws by Aaron Wadman as the Royals trailed 43-30 at halftime.

The Royals came out strong to start the second half as they started on a 6-0 run with back to back layups from Wadman to get within 43-35 with 16:55 left. Unfortunately the Royals couldn't stop the Mustangs as they pulled out to a 53-39 lead with 10:54 to go. The Royals tried to get back in the game but the Mustangs extended their lead to 68-51 with 4:58 left. The Royals didn't give up as they found some late offense with Fisher sparking a 13-3 run led by 10 points from Grant Sii to pull within 71-64 with 1:15 to go. It was too little too late as the Royals forced some late turnovers to create a scoring opportunity but were unable to complete the comeback as they fell 75-66. Sii led the Royals with 17 points.

With the loss the Royals earn the No. 3 seed in the GSAC Tournament and will travel to Glendale, AZ on Saturday, March 1 at 1:00 PM to face No. 5 Arizona Christian.
