PRESCOTT, Ariz. – No. 9 Embry-Riddle scored three times during a 12-minute stretch of the second half and defeated Hope International, 3-1, in a GSAC women's soccer contest on Thursday.
Jamie Black got the Eagles on the board in the 59th minute and ERAU made it 2-0 when Jamie Brandon netted a goal in the 69th minute.
The Eagles (9-0-2, 6-0-0 GSAC) extended the lead to 3-0 a couple of minutes later on Brandon's second goal.
The Royals (6-5-1, 3-3-1 GSAC) whittled the deficit to 3-1 at the 76:18 mark on Brandi Valdez's third goal of the season.
ERAU held a 12-5 shots advantage, including 5-0 in the first half. The Eagles also led 4-0 in corner kicks.
Karissa Frerichs led HIU with two shots. HIU goalkeeper Victoria Ruiz made a season-high six saves.
ERAU netminder Aubrianne Dupre stopped two shots.
