The Royals quickly answered with a huge block by Santiago Mantovani and Julian Zavala to take a 7-6 lead. The teams then exchanged points before the Red Wolves went up 13-12. Kills by Zavala and Damon Potter put the Royals back ahead 15-13. The Red Wolves rallied to tie it but once again the Royals took a 19-16 lead with kills by Cole Oliver and Zavala.
