Royals Dominate Buccaneers with 7-2 Victory to Extend Winning Streak

Irvine, CA- The Royals of Hope International Women's Soccer team (13-1-1, 10-0-1 GSAC) extended their winning streak to thirteen games and remain undefeated in GSAC play as they defeated the Buccaneers of Park University 7-2 (2-10-3, 1-7-3 GSAC ) on Thursday evening in Irvine, CA. 

The Royals started off strong taking three shots within the first five minutes of the match. In the fourth minute Jordan Galvin scored the first goal of the match and her seventh of the season. The Royals continued to push the ball taking several shots on the goal. In the 24th minute, Christiane Sundstrom assisted Senior midfielder, Pressley Honeycutt to score the second goal of the match and her third of the season. Immediately following, Ryley Candelario assisted Jordan Galvin who scored her second goal of the match, eighth for the season, making the score 3-0. Following several substitutions from both teams, the Buccaneers attempted four goals which were saved by the Royals Goalie, Haley Slouka

The Royals wasted no time extending their lead when Christiane Sundstrom and Bela Ochoa assisted Jordan Galvin in earning a hat trick, her third goal of the game and ninth of the season. The Buccaneers could not hold The Royals as Christiane Sundstrom assisted Alyssa Rubio for her first goal of the season and the fifth of the match making the score 5-0. The Royals struck again in the 61st minute when Brandi Valdez assisted Alyssa Rubio in scoring her second goal of the season and the sixth of the match. The Buccaneers attempted to make adjustments throughout the second half subbing in several players looking to get on the board. The Royals made adjustments for themselves, extending their lead when Keyla Fragoso assisted Indi Stum to scoring her second goal of the season and the seventh of the match. The Buccaneers efforts to score were successful as Dani Mares scored her first goal of the season making the score 7-1. The Buccaneers continued to break through the Royals defense. In the 83rd minute The Bucaneers scored their second and last goal of the match as Alicia Ypina assisted Jocelyn Chavez in scoring her first goal of the season. 

The Royals will continue GSAC action as they will host Benedictine University Mesa on Saturday October 26th at 5:30pm at the OC Great Park in Irvine, CA on field #18.
