Ralston's Hat Trick Helps Royals Draw 3-3 With Eagles

La Mirada, CA - The Hope International women's soccer team (6-2-1) finished with their first tie of the season as they drew level 3-3 in a thriller against NCAA Division II opponent Biola University on Saturday evening in La Mirada, CA

The game was a close one as both teams did a good job of creating chances and it was the Royals who opened the scoring in the 31st minute as Sarah Ralston delivered a beautiful free kick into the top left corner of the net to make it 1-0 which is where the score would stand at halftime. The Eagles came out after the break looking for the equalizer and it didn't take them very long as they scored in the 51st minute to make it 1-1. The Eagles then built on that momentum as they scored again in the 65th minute to take a 2-1 lead. The Royals didn't give up though and they would find the equalizer in the 76th minute as it was Ralston again who scored off a great pass from Keyla Fragoso to tie it 2-2. From their the Royals seized the momentum back and just a few minutes later they launched a counterattack as Olivia Tostado found Ralston to complete her hat trick in the 82nd minute to give the Royals the lead back at 3-2. Unfortunately the Eagles answered just a few minutes later off a corner kick to tie the game again at 3-3 in the 85th minute. With little time remaining neither team were able to generate great scoring opportunities as the game finished 3-3.

The Royals next will open GSAC play on the road as they travel to Northern California to take on William Jessup on Thursday, September 29 at 11:00 AM in Rocklin, CA.
