Fullerton, CA - The Hope International women's soccer team (6-2) continued to pile up the goals as they trounced the University of Antelope Valley 7-1 on Monday afternoon at the OC Great Park in Irvine, CA.
The Royals controlled the game from the start and opened the scoring in the 8th minute when
Sarah Ralston dribbled through her defender and then launched a shot into the roof of the net to make it 1-0. The Royals continued to dominate possession and struck again in the 25th minute as
Ruby Landeros grabbed her first goal of the season off a rebound from Oliva Tostado to make it 2-0. The Royals continued to dominate as right after subbing on
Emma Jackson played a great ball to
Stephanie Garcia who finished to make it 3-0 in the 40th minute. Then right before halftime the Royals grabbed another as Jackson found
Maddie Myers for her first of the season in the 44th minute to make it 4-0 at halftime.
The Royals didn't let up after the break as they continued to press forward with
America Bobadilla scoring off a beautiful cross that found it's way into the back of the net in the 49th minute to increase the Royals lead to 5-0. Then a few minutes later Bobadilla set up Jackson with a great ball across the box in the 53rd minute to make it 6-0. The Royals weren't done though as
Kassidy Valtierra stole a pass from the Pioneers goalie and finished into the bottom right of the net to make it 7-0 in the 72nd minute. The Pioneers though pulled a goal back in the 89th minute as the Royals won 7-1.
The Royals continue their season on the road as they travel to La Mirada, CA to take on Biola University on Saturday, September 17 at 7:00 PM.
