Fullerton, CA – The Hope International women's volleyball team (4-14, 3-7) fell 3-0 to William Jessup on Friday evening at the Darling Pavilion in Fullerton, CA
The game was evenly matched in the first set as the teams exchanged leads before the Royals took a late 20-17 lead thanks to a big kill from
Cassidy Koffroth. The Warriors though came back to take a 22-21 lead. The Royals answered with a kill by
Carissa Wiles to tie it 22-22 but the Warriors scored the last three points of the set as the Royals fell 25-22 and behind 1-0. The Warriors continued their momentum into the second set as they raced out to a big lead and never looked back taking set two 25-14 for a 2-0 lead. Facing defeat the Royals came out strong in the third set as they took an early 9-3 led led by three kills from
Cassidy Koffroth. The Warriors battled back as they got closer before going on a 7-0 run to take a 16-14 lead. The Royals then answered with a 3-0 run to take a 17-16 lead with Koffroth delivering a key service ace. The Warriors though went on a 9-1 run to close the set out 25-18 and the game 3-0. Koffroth led the Royals with 9 kills.
The Royals continue GSAC play at home as they take on Menlo on Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 PM on campus in the Darling Pavilion.
